Richard Dale Caldwell, age 76, Sheridan, Missouri died Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Golden Living Care Center in Maryville, Missouri.

Richard was born August 9, 1939 in Sheridan, Missouri, son of Maynard Stokley and Wilma Mae (Wilson) Caldwell.

Richard was a 1957 graduate of Sheridan High School.

On September 9, 1959 he was united in marriage to Mary K. James in Maryville, Missouri. To this union one son was born, Gregory.

Richard was retired, having worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother Denzil Caldwell and an infant sister.

Survivors include his wife Mary of the home, Sheridan; son Greg (Lisa) Caldwell, Columbia, Missouri; a grandson Matthew Caldwell and a granddaughter Natalie Caldwell, both of Columbia; one sister Donna Sheer, Hayward, Wisconsin; and two brothers Derril Caldwell, Maryville, Missouri and Douglas (Paula) Caldwell, Greenfield, Iowa; sister-in-law Lois Caldwell, Willow Springs, Missouri; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gary (Vetra) James, Sheridan, and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Caldwell’s body has been cremated. A celebration of life will be held from 5-7 PM, April 1, 2016 at the Andrews-Hann Funeral Home in Grant City. Inurnment will be in the Grant City Cemetery at a later date. Memorial: American Diabetes Association.
