Obituary for Freda Louise Robertson (Austin)

Freda Louise Robertson, 81, a long-time resident of Kansas City, Kansas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Freda was born January 31, 1936 in Worth Co, Mo. the daughter of Lester and Deva (Miller) Austin. Freda was raised with her 2 siblings; Lavaun (Austin) Hann and Larry Austin in Grant City, Mo. Freda is a graduate of Grant City High School, in Grant City, Mo. Where she played basketball.

Freda was united in marriage to Rex Robertson on Aug 23, 1958. Together they raised 3 children; Bobbie Robertson, Debbie (Robertson) Thornton and Kimberly (Robertson) Rigsby.
Family meant the world to Freda. She spent many hours attending baseball games, band concerts, scouting events and dance recitals. She was a home maker and fabulous cook. Everyone will miss her meatloaf, beef and noodles, red velvet cake, and cinnamon rolls just to name a few. She loved returning to her hometown to visit family.

Freda loved walking. She loved going to auctions, garage sales and shopping. She enjoyed hosting coffees at her home with baked goods and dear friends. She loved spending time with Rex, watching Wheel of Fortune, spending time in the yard, planting flowers, gardening and relaxing on the patio. Freda loved the holidays. She spent many hours baking cookies and breads to share with family and friends. She also loved decorating her home for the holidays and going to look at holiday lights.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Bobbie Robertson, sister Lavaun Hann and a brother Larry Austin.

Survivors include: her husband Rex Robertson of the home, Daughters Debbie (Chris) Thornton, Kimberly (Dale) Rigsby, Grandchildren: Jessica Beeson, Garrett Urbanek, Justin Robertson, Charles Thornton, Christine Thornton and Alex Fletcher. Great Grandchildren: Brooke Ruby, Morgan Ruby, Corbin Urbanek, Keegan Urbanek, and Ely Robertson; nieces, nephews, and a host of other friends and loved ones.
