Laura Lou Goff

Laura Lou (Bressler) Goff, age 81, was born June 12, 1933 to Hazen Bressler and Lorene Cloos in Grant City, passed away at home on April 14, 2015.

Lou attended Echo Dale School and graduated from Grant City High School in 1951. That same year she was united in marriage with Francis Eugene Goff.

Active in the community, Lou was a founding member of the Grant City Athenium Board, served on the library board and the historical society. She volunteered countless hours as a 4-H leader.

Lou was artistic, expressing her creativity as a cook, seamstress, quilter, home decorator and especially in her music. At the age of 18 she began playing the organ at the Grant City United Methodist Church, a position she enjoyed for more than 50 years. She also shared her talent with others through teaching. She had countless piano students through the years.

The Goffs were avid gardeners and sports fans, attending many Worth County Tiger, Northwest Bearcat and Kansas City Royals games through the years. They also enjoyed traveling, their travels took them to several states and six foreign countries in their 63 years of marriage.

Lou is survived by her husband Francis; her sister Carol Jensen of Woodland Park, CO; four children, Stephen and wife Ramona of Grant City, Susan Cavin and husband Jerry of Clarinda, IA; Douglas and wife Shery of Zionsville, IN; and Julie Elliott and husband John of Smithville, MO. Also missing her will be her six grandchildren Michele Cavin, Laura Risola and husband James, Thomas Goff, Amanda Goff, Danny Goff, Rebecca Goff, Samuel Elliott and Sadie Elliott and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, sister Marian Scott and two grandsons Andrew and Matthew Goff.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Andrews-Hann Funeral Home in Grant City. The family will receive friends from 6-7 PM, Thursday, April 16 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Grant City Cemetery. Memorial: First United Methodist Church, Grant City.
